2026 Award-Winning Engineering Consultation Projects in West Michigan
We’re proud to have contributed to three West Michigan projects recently recognized by AIA Grand Rapids: The Emory Arts & Culture Hub, Acrisure Amphitheater, and LiveWell on Harrison. Each project serves a different purpose, but all three demonstrate the impact of thoughtful design and collaboration.
Here’s a closer look at each project and E3M’s role.

The Emory Arts & Culture Hub
Award: AIA Grand Rapids Inclusive Design Award
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
E3M’s Role: MEP Engineering
The Emory Arts & Culture Hub brings arts, education, affordable housing, and community programming together in Grand Rapids’ Burton Heights neighborhood. Developed by The Diatribe, the project creates space for local artists and young people to connect, learn, and create.
E3M provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering. From heating and cooling to lighting and plumbing, MEP engineering helps ensure the building supports the people and activities inside it.
We’ve glad to have contributed alongside Pure Architects and Wolverine Construction to a project focused on making more roofs for creativity and community in Grand Rapids.
Acrisure Amphitheater
Award: AIA Grand Rapids Project of the Year
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
E3M’s Role: BIM Coordination
Located along the Grand River, Acrisure Amphitheater adds a major outdoor entertainment venue to downtown Grand Rapids. With space for approximately 12,000 people, it provides a new destination for concerts, performances, and community events.
E3M provided BIM coordination, helping align building systems and identify potential conflicts throughout the project. Acrisure Amphitheater received AIA Grand Rapids’ Project of the Year Award, recognizing the project among the region’s outstanding work.
We’re proud to have contributed to this landmark alongside Progressive Companies, Pioneer Construction, Barton Malow, and the other project partners.

LiveWell on Harrison
Award: AIA Grand Rapids Community Impact by Design
Location: Flint, MI
E3M’s Role: MEP Engineering
LiveWell on Harrison brings affordable housing, wellness, and community services together in downtown Flint. Developed in partnership by Uptown Reinvestment Corporation and the YMCA of Greater Flint, the mixed-use facility includes a YMCA wellness center and 50 affordable and market-rate apartments, along with programs supporting health, recreation, and local families.
With housing, recreation, and wellness facilities under one roof, LiveWell on Harrison brings together spaces with very different needs. Coordinating the building’s mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems is an important part of making those spaces work together.
E3M provided MEP engineering for the project, working alongside Integrated Architecture to support a facility designed to serve Flint residents in a variety of ways.
