Tiger Athletic & Community Center

MEP Engineering for a Premier Recreation Facility in Shelby, Michigan

The Tiger Athletic & Community Center is a new 65,000-square-foot, two-level recreation facility designed to provide year-round opportunities for athletics, fitness, and community engagement in Shelby, Michigan. Built to serve residents of Oceana County and the surrounding region, the facility features an indoor turf field, two basketball courts that convert into four volleyball courts or six pickleball courts, an elevated indoor walking track, batting tunnels, fitness center, golf simulator, rock climbing wall, archery simulator, arcade, children’s play area, and flexible community spaces for events and programming.

E3M Solutions was proud to provide the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineering for this exciting project, working alongside Lakewood Architects and Stovall Construction to design building systems that support both athletic performance and long-term operational efficiency.

Designing MEP systems for a facility of this size and versatility required careful coordination to accommodate large open athletic spaces, changing occupancy levels, and a wide variety of recreational amenities. From the indoor turf field and hardwood courts to the lobby, fitness areas, and support spaces, every system was engineered to provide reliable occupant comfort, energy-efficient operation, and lasting performance.

In addition to the indoor amenities, E3M designed the electrical infrastructure supporting the facility’s electric vehicle (EV) charging stations, helping prepare the site for the growing adoption of electric vehicles while providing an added convenience for visitors and staff.

Today, the Tiger Athletic & Community Center serves as a premier destination for youth sports, tournaments, fitness programs, and community events throughout West Michigan. E3M Solutions is proud to have partnered with Lakewood Architects and Stovall Construction on a project that demonstrates how thoughtful MEP engineering helps transform a vision into a high-performing community asset.
